MGMGA 1600 MKI

Geschichte:
Der MG A gilt als eines der meistverkauften Sportroadster der britischen Automobilgeschichte. Seine Erfolgsgeschichte startete 1955 als Nachfolger der T-Reihe. Die extreme Beliebtheit auch ausserhalb des britischen Marktes ist einmalig: Von über 101'000 produzierten Exemplaren blieben lediglich 5'869 Exemplare in England, über 94% der Gesamtproduktion wurden exportiert – Weltrekord! Vielleicht liegt es an der klassischen Karosserielinie, an der Einfachheit der Konstruktion oder ganz einfach daran, dass der MG A heute einer der beliebtesten Oldtimer in einer Preisklasse von 40'000 bis 55'000 Franken ist, dass er auch heute noch, und insbesondere bei Goodtimer, zu den Bestsellern gehört. Das neu im Angebot stehende MG A Cabriolet ist der beliebte 1600er MKI mit den damals revolutionären Scheibenbremsen vorne. Mit der Typenscheinnummer 2937 wurde dieses Exemplar im August 1961 erstmals in der Schweiz zugelassen.
Karosserie und Lack:
Das Fahrzeug wurde im Winter 2009/2010 restauriert und neu lackiert. Dank der sehr guten Pflege präsentiert sich der Roadster noch heute sehr schön. Die Karosserie ist kerngesund und der Lack auch nach 13 Jahren noch sehr schön.
Interieur:
Sehr viel Wert wurde auf den Erhalt der Lederpolster gelegt. Die Polsterung zeigt dank der damaligen Restauration nur eine leichte Patina und ist bestens erhalten.
Motor und Mechanik:
Die gesamte mechanische Anlage wurde jedes Jahr in einer Fachwerkstatt geprüft und gewartet. Die frische MFK-Prüfung hat der MG A mängelfrei absolviert und es gibt weder Wartungsstau noch Reparaturbedarf.
Fahrwerk:
Fahrwerk und Bremsen sind Prüfstand-getestet und einwandfrei. Die Scheibenbremsen sind wirkungsvoll und lassen den MG A flott und sicher bewegen.
Fahrerlebnis:
Der MG A gehört wohl zu den typischsten britischen Klassikern in der Preisklasse bis 55’000 Franken. Kein anderer Roadster dieser Klasse bietet eine solche Formvollendung und ein solch ursprüngliches Fahrerlebnis wie der MG A. Gerade deshalb gilt der MG A als optimaler Einstiegsklassiker der 50er und 60er Jahre.
Empfehlung:
Der MG A gehört zu den schönsten britischen Klassikern der damaligen Zeit und erfreut sich einer sehr hohen Beliebtheit. Gut restaurierte und erhaltene Exemplare sind leider nicht mehr viele zu finden. Wer einen echten klassischen Roadster besitzen möchte, das Frischliftvergnügen liebt und keine hohen Unterhaltskosten haben möchte, der ist mit einem MG A bestens bedient.

The MG A is considered one of the best-selling sports roadsters in British automotive history. Its success story began in 1955 as the successor to the T series. Perhaps it is due to the classic body line, the simplicity of the construction or simply because the MG A is now one of the most popular classic cars in a price range of 40'000 to 55'000 Swiss francs that it is still one of the best sellers today, and especially at Goodtimer. The new MG A Cabriolet on offer is the popular 1600 MKI with the then revolutionary front disc brakes. With the type certificate number 2937, this example was first registered in Switzerland in August 1961.
Body and paintwork:
The vehicle was restored and repainted in winter 2009/2010. Thanks to the very good care, the roadster still presents itself very beautifully today. The body is in perfect condition and the paintwork is still very beautiful after 13 years.
Interior:
Great care was taken to preserve the leather upholstery. Thanks to the restoration at the time, the upholstery shows only a slight patina and is in excellent condition.
Engine and mechanics:
The entire mechanical system was checked and serviced every year in a specialist workshop. The MG A has passed the recent MOT inspection without any defects and there is neither a maintenance backlog nor any need for repair.
Chassis:
Chassis and brakes have been bench tested and are in perfect condition. The disc brakes are effective and allow the MG A to move quickly and safely.
Driving experience:
The MG A is probably one of the most typical British classics in the price range up to 55,000 Swiss francs. No other roadster in this class offers such a perfection of form and such an original driving experience as the MG A. For this very reason, the MG A is considered the optimal entry-level classic of the 50s and 60s.
Recommendation:
The MG A is one of the most beautiful British classics of the time and enjoys a very high level of popularity. Unfortunately, there are not many well restored and preserved examples left. If you want to own a real classic roadster, love the fresh-lift pleasure and do not want high maintenance costs, an MG A is the best choice.
